Buffet à volonté, Francis Mizio

Il est assez rare qu'un écrivain annonce qu'il cesse d'écrire, que, pour lui, la littérature, c'est fini, et qu'il n'y aura plus de roman. C'est ce qu'a fait Francis Mizio, après quelques bonnes histoires et pas mal de nouvelles qui en sont aussi (des histoires).
Buffet à volonté est donc un dernier roman, une catégorie moins fournie que celle des premiers qui fleurissent à qui mieux mieux. Ce n'est pas la seule raison de le lire.
C'est un roman, certes, mais écrit à partir d'une expérience vécue, de l'autofiction qui ne dit pas son nom, donc, en quelque sorte, même si en la matière, tout est toujours un peu plus compliqué que cela.
Buffet à volonté, en tout cas, a été écrit à partir de notes prises après que les enfants soient couchés, dans les toilettes d'une studette, au coeur d'un village de vacances où l'auteur, gracieusement accueilli une semaine, devait en contrepartie proposer des ateliers d'écriture.
C'est l'occasion, au choix, et tout en même temps, d'une réflexion sur la place de l'écrivain dans la société, la place du prolétaire en vacances, la place de l'écriture dans la vie de tout un chacun qui préfère généralement la planche à voile, la place de la piscine par rapport aux bungalows et, surtout, la place de la table par rapport au buffet, mauvais, mais à volonté.
Francis Mizio est un clown tragique au regard un brin désabusé. Et son Buffet à volonté mérite qu'on le lise, en souriant jaune, parfois, mais avec attention.
